When I first created this site for a class project last year, my main goal was to just make something satisfactory enough to get a good grade. However, now that I am a little closer to graduating and am starting to look at careers, I can see how having a good ePortfolio may be useful for establishing a professional presence. This assignment gave me the opportunity to properly update my ePortfolio, and the resources provided by my professor were thorough in aiding me in the creation of a product that I can be proud of.
One big adjustment I made was changing the Resume page. When I first created it, I had just copied and pasted the text from a Word document, which ruined the formatting that I had established. Being able to embed it as a PDF eliminated the need to format a whole new resume, and it will also make it easier to update my resume and add new information in the future.
To get some help with putting the polish on my page, I met with a peer mentor at ODU’s ePortfolio Studio. He helped me with make some aesthetic changes to the site and give it a more streamlined look. I am glad to have a space to showcase my professional work, and I look forward to adding to it as I move forward in my academic career.
