Opening Up

I found setting up my Wix account and ePortfolio fairly easy. The guide was very comprehensive and easy to follow. Once understood the flow of the website, I had no trouble customizing it to my needs. The hardest part of setting it up was focusing on getting the main framework into place instead of fiddling with all of the exciting customization options! I understand that there will be plenty of time for that later.

I am looking forward to creating my own ePortfolio and having a place to showcase myself and my abilities for future employers. My current online presence is more about social media for the purpose of staying in touch with friends and family and sharing memes and news and other entertaining or interesting content. I am looking forward to this opportunity to develop a professional online presence as well.

As mentioned before, my present social media usage is more personally-focused and is hardly a representation of my professional abilities. I like to share articles and blog posts that are of interest to me, but I think I have the potential and opportunity to create my own content for a change and work on developing more marketable skills.

At this stage in the ePortfolio project, I am interested to learn about what kinds of writing and projects I should share on my portfolio. I am also interested in finding opportunities to create original, sharable content that I can add to my portfolio to showcase my abilities and potential to future employers.
